Organic Grub Control
Organic grub control consists of 1 nematode treatment in September or October. Nematodes are parasitic round worms. When mixed with water and sprayed to the turf the immediately go to work to find the host, The Grub. They enter through any opening and once inside release a symbiotic bacteria which will kill the grub in 24-48 hours.
Did you know that grubs are the most damaging turf insect?
Japanese beetle grubs alone cause an estimated $234 million in damage each year!
Grubs are the larval stage of many different beetles, including the Japanese beetle. Grubs live below ground and feed on the roots of tender grass plants and soon kill the plant. They are the most destructive during the mid to late summer, but the damage they cause may not show up until early fall …but by then, it’s too late!
The best time to control grubs is in early summer, just after they hatch. During this time they are very susceptible to treatment and just before they start causing extensive damage to your lawn.
