Fall into a Lush Lawn
The Importance of Core Aeration and Slice Seeding
Above you can see a clear before and after of our aeration and seeding services.
Routine lawn maintenance is important to the overall health and beauty of your lawn. Core aeration and slice seeding (also known as over seeding) are both used to promote growth and to thicken the lawn. Core aeration enhances water infiltration from rainfall and irrigation, improves root growth and helps to prevent run off of fertilizers and pesticides. Over seeding helps prevent disease, drought and insect infestation in lawns.
Core Aeration Process
Core aeration is the process of removing hundreds of small plugs of soil from your lawn. Removing these plugs from a lawn allows air, water and nutrients into the root zone of the grass. Grass that is growing in extremely compacted soil will grow very slowly and does not thicken, but with this aeration process it will grow fast, lush and beautiful.
Aeration Can Transform Your Lawn’s Appearance
If your lawn shows signs of heat stress with patchy or discolored areas, now is the time to embrace core aeration and over-seeding!
To determine if your lawn needs core aeration and seeding, ask yourself:
- Is water being absorbed into your lawn (or does it pool)?
- Does your lawn look healthy? Or are there areas with sparse or weak grass growth?
If water is not being absorbed or your lawn has unhealthy patches, Veron can help.
